Cogmedix, a wholly owned subsidiary of Coghlin Companies, Inc., and a leading medical device engineering and manufacturing services provider, announced significant sales growth in 2016. Cogmedix attributes its growth to the addition of several new medical device innovation clients, as well as the growth from the existing customer base that has led to increased production of many innovative optical and laser-based medical devices. “In 2016, Cogmedix revenues grew by nearly 60%,” said Matt Giza, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Cogmedix. He continued, “During 2016 we added several new OEM programs to our portfolio and enhanced our team of Caring Associates with many talented new hires.”
During 2016, Coghlin Companies also invested heavily to update its electronic business systems for its wholly owned subsidiaries, Columbia Tech and Cogmedix. According to Chris Coghlin, President and CEO of Coghlin Companies, “This is one of the most significant investments our family has made over the past decade. We are committed to possessing the most advanced electronic manufacturing and engineering tools available in order to drive operational efficiency, real-time information transfer, accelerated time to market, and an exceptional client experience. We remain passionately focused on maintaining 100 percent client referability across all business units.”
According to Giza, “The systems include an upgraded ERP system, a new electronic PLM system, and an MES system. These systems will provide additional enhancements to our materials management, shop floor control, serialization, traceability, and device history management. The new PLM system offers several advantages to our growing medical device design initiative, now led by Cogmedix Vice President of Engineering, Paul Dunleavy.”
