Columbia Tech’s Vice President of Program Management and Successful Product Launches, Alexis Vallejos, has been selected as a winner of the Worcester Business Journal’s 2017 40 Under Forty Awards. The awards are presented annually to highlight “the rising stars of the Central Massachusetts business community that are excelling in a variety of industries and stepping up as leaders of tomorrow.”
“Throughout his journey from Data Entry Associate to Vice President, Alexis has always been the most optimistic, humble and hardworking leader that any company could ask for,” said Columbia Tech President and CEO Chris Coghlin. “His story is a true example of the American dream, and our company is lucky to have him as part of our team.”
Originally from Nicaragua, Alexis graduated from the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua (UNAN-Leon) with an MD as a Doctor of General Medicine. When he learned of a job opportunity for a Data Entry position at Columbia Tech that would enable him to move to the US, he applied and was hired shortly after. While working hard to learn his new job, Vallejos was also studying to be fluent in English as a second language. His persistence and hard work, combined with a positive attitude, quickly made him an integral member of the Columbia Tech team. In 2008, Vallejos was promoted to Bid & Proposal Manager, then to Director of Bid & Proposal, and then to Director of Bid & Proposal and Planning. Today, Vallejos is the Vice President of Program Management and Successful Product Launches, overseeing some of the most vital aspects of Columbia Tech’s business.
Alexis is an exemplary employee and a philanthropist who lives by a philosophy of giving back to those in need. He regularly supports local charities in his home country of Nicaragua. Columbia Tech is proud to count him among its family of Caring Associates and to congratulate him on his win as one of this year’s top “40 Under Forty” business leaders.
